Post Wedding Stomach Bug

My wedding was this Saturday......

It was beautiful and nice and a day to remember. I loved my day. However since Sunday around 2am I have been battling a stomach bug that has been kicking my behind and winning. I've been bedridden for 2 days. Between the bathroom and the bed has been my path. On the bright side, I have lost 5 lbs and I guess that's a plus. My mom keeps saying I didn't get cold feet before the vows so this is my version of it now. On my honeymoon, and my husband is taking care of me.

I have never felt this horrible in my life.

Myths...

In my life, I have heard several myths. My family believes in weird ones. Well I guess it was more superstitions than myths.

1. If you knocked flowers over onto the ground that mean someone from the dead was trying to get in touch with you.

2. Walking into a spiderweb brings good luck (I HAVE NEVER wanted to be this lucky)

3. Sweep someone's feet with the broom, you will go to jail unless you spit on it. ( This one was just plain disgusting)

4. Eating fish eyes made you smart ( Never ate them, that could be why I struggled in math)

You name it., they believed it. I use to believe them until I got around my teenage years, and just came to the conclusion that my mom and aunts were just crazy.

Death

I come from a big family. When you have a large family, you have alot of births and a lot of deaths. I have had my fair share of funerals in my lifetime. Death is so depressing. Especially if the COD isn't natural and expected, and pain free.

I remember when my dog died, and seeing how much pain he was in. He was my baby!! Remy was his name and he was 8 years old. He was a pure bred cocker spaniel and all black. I had him since he was a little puppy. A few weeks old to be exact. He was my guy! He went everywhere with me. Friends knew that if I was coming over, Remy was coming with. He was my best friend. He was so funny. Eight isn't an old age for dogs and before I had him, I never really thought about dogs dying.

I'll never forget the day he passed. Well it actually started the day before. It was very sudden and unexpected. Typical morning in the house and I am getting up and getting ready for school. It was my senior year in high school. (WOW- Realizing that was 10yrs ago is scary- Im  getting old!) Remy was usually always in my room or at the foot of my bed. Everyone was in the mornign routing of getting ready .My mom, dad and younger sister. Remy started walking down the stairs and crying while doing so. My dad and I are freaking oout because I never heard him sound like that. My dad picked him up and brought him down the rest of the way. He stopped crying and my dad took him for walk. He seemed to have snapped out of it, and went back to normal. So I thought.

I worked at Buds in high school, and was at my job when my mom called me hysterically at work. She said he wasn't moving his legs so I rushed home. When I got home, he had moved to behind one of the couches and would not move. His back legs weren't moving and he just looked so sad. I picked him up and we took him to the Animal Hospital. We were there for a few hour, just waiting before they could tell us anything.

I was so concerned. Come to find out, he has slipped more than one disk in his back. The Vet kep asking if he had fallen. We know he hadnt. The doctor told us to go home and come in the morning.

In the morning, we went back to the hospital and he had gotten worse. He couldn't move anything but his head but he was so happy to see us. I was crying because the Vet said surgery wouldn't be an option because how injured he was. We had to put him down. I literally felt like my child died! It was one of the most depressing time of my life.

A few weeks after he passed, his groomer called to see if he was coming in for his scheduled grooming. We let her know that he had passed and what happened. Two days after that, she called back and informed us that Remy had fallen off the grooming table while he was there. I was LIVID!i was somewhere between burning her shop down or protesting outside of the shop and calling the news station. She was very sorry and reiumbursed all of his vet expenses.

I got another dog and I have had him for 10 yrs now, but I will always miss Remy. He was my baby! No, Mr. Priest DOES NOT go to Remy's former groomer.
