This Week Random Blog - WEDDING PLANNING BLUES
This week we have a blog that
could be about anything. So I guess I can talk about my wedding plans. I am
currently married. I have been since August of last year. My husband proposed
in December 2013 and we decided on December 2014 wedding date. Gave us a year
to get ready! Surprise happened in March when I found out I was a few months
pregnant. The baby was due in August so we still was going ahead with wedding
plans for out December wedding. Things
got HECTIC. I never in a million would have thought that wedding plans was this
crazy. No one could have told me this. There are so many little things that are
involved. I never wanted a big wedding. I have never had the desire for a big Cinderella
dream wedding. Never planned a wedding in my head. I wanted to go to the
courthouse. I was fine with that. However, my dad is a pastor, and I was his
first of four children marrying, and I realized I DID want my dad to marry us.
That meant something to me. So we decided on a small beach wedding of 50. I was
determined not to let the wedding plans get me stressed out. After all, I am
pregnant, and big during the hot spring and summer months.
So many things was happening at
once. We needed a bigger place, I was tired of renting, new daycare fees, my 3
year old needs love and attention, and my pregnancy was kicking my ass. I was
talking to my realtor about finding us a new place to rent, preferably a home,
and she started telling me that I should buy. It was the last thing on my mind.
I hadn’t thought about buying a house for another two or three years. So I was
like well tell me what to do. Next thing I know I am buying a house, carrying a
baby, planning a wedding, and trying to make sure my 3 yr. old feels the
attention and love he needs. He started acting out a bit when I got pregnant.
On top of all this, I am still working full time at the Attorney General’s
office. I AM exhausted at this point. My
plans for no stress went out the window the moment I made it. Me and my husband
finally set down and decided that we wanted the house more than we wanted the
wedding. So we pushed the wedding plans back to June 6, 2015. Baby was coming
in August, and my husband still wanted to be married before we had her so he
asked if we could do something, just us to, at the courthouse. I was fine with
that. BUT what about our parents??? We decided to keep it a secret. So we went
and got married on anniversary date 8-7-14, at the courthouse. To this day, no
one knows we are married but he and I. Baby came end of August. We moved into our
house in November.
We got back on track with the
wedding planning in Feb 2015. This stuff is till hectic. I am doing something
wedding oriented every single weekend. I am so ready for the day to come and
go!!! It is in 18 days and I cannot wait for it be over! I more excited about
the day after the wedding than the actual day .Yes I know I will enjoy this day
and cherish it our memories forever, but OMG.... Wedding planning SUCKS

Critical Perspective...
Critical Perspective is essential when reading. Everyone's
critical perspective can differ from one another. Critical perspective is how
you see, interpret, and understand the material. It’s basically what you
understand the material to be and what you got from what you just read. It goes
hand in hand with comprehension.

Poem Blog
Blog #13
One of my favorite writers/poets is Shel Silverstein. I have
about 5 of his books. My favorite book by him is Where the Sidewalk End. I have
memorized each poem in the book. I’ve had it all my life and I read it to my
son and my daughter. Shel Silverstein was a great poet. One of my favorite
poems in the book is Sick. It’s about a young girl who wants to stay in bed and
not go to school because she is sick. She describes in depth how she is near
death throughout the poem. She has every disease she can think of. Once she
nears death near the end of the poem, she learns its Saturday. She is suddenly
miraculously healed and wants to go out and play. I love them poem because we
can all say we have tried it as well. I know I can. I have come up with some
fevers and “sore throats” to try to get out of school. It never worked with my
mom, but I sure tried it. If you ever get a chance, brag the book it is a GREAT
book.
Sick
Sick "I cannot go to school
today,"
Said little Peggy Ann McKay.
"I have the measles and the mumps,
A gash, a rash and purple bumps.
My mouth is wet, my throat is dry,
I'm going blind in my right eye.
My tonsils are as big as rocks,
I've counted sixteen chicken pox
And there's one more - that's seventeen,
And don't you think my face looks green?
My leg is cut, my eyes are blue -
It might be instamatic flu.
I cough and sneeze and gasp and choke,
I'm sure that my left leg is broke -
My hip hurts when I move my chin,
My belly button's caving in,
My back is wrenched, my ankle's sprained,
My 'pendix pains each time it rains.
My nose is cold, my toes are numb,
I have a sliver in my thumb.
My neck is stiff, my spine is weak,
I hardly whisper when I speak.
My tongue is filling up my mouth,
I think my hair is falling out.
My elbow's bent, my spine ain't straight,
My temperature is one-o-eight.
My brain is shrunk, I cannot hear,
There is a hole inside my ear.
I have a hangnail, and my heart is -
what? What's that? What's that you say?
You say today is ... Saturday?
G'bye, I'm going out to play!"

Women Writers....
There are so
many women writers in the world of Literature. I love to read so I come across
many! I will say that some of my favorite writers are male. Harlan Coben is my
absolute favorite. I have read EVERY book he has written, and I am at the
bookstore when he releases a new one. One of my favorite women writers is
Jackie Collins. She is great, and her stories are so captivating. Her Lucky
Santangelo novels are the best!! She has written about Lucky over the years. I
feel like I know her and her family life.
Since being in the class I have studies a lot of Flannery O’ Connor’s
work and I must say I enjoy reading her short stories. I read Revelation for
class assignment purposes only. Once I started researching her for that
particular assignment, I came across other published works of her, and really
enjoy her stories. Her collection of short stories in the book, A Good Man is hard
to Find, are fantastic. I read them all. The Artificial Nigger and The River
are the best out of that collection.
I have read other women writers.
Women writers have written compelling stuff. From Flannery O’ Connor to E.L.
James and her Fifty Trilogy. From J.K. Rowling to Zane. There are so many out
there! I get to them one page at a time.
