This week we have a blog that
could be about anything. So I guess I can talk about my wedding plans. I am
currently married. I have been since August of last year. My husband proposed
in December 2013 and we decided on December 2014 wedding date. Gave us a year
to get ready! Surprise happened in March when I found out I was a few months
pregnant. The baby was due in August so we still was going ahead with wedding
plans for out December wedding. Things
got HECTIC. I never in a million would have thought that wedding plans was this
crazy. No one could have told me this. There are so many little things that are
involved. I never wanted a big wedding. I have never had the desire for a big Cinderella
dream wedding. Never planned a wedding in my head. I wanted to go to the
courthouse. I was fine with that. However, my dad is a pastor, and I was his
first of four children marrying, and I realized I DID want my dad to marry us.
That meant something to me. So we decided on a small beach wedding of 50. I was
determined not to let the wedding plans get me stressed out. After all, I am
pregnant, and big during the hot spring and summer months.
So many things was happening at
once. We needed a bigger place, I was tired of renting, new daycare fees, my 3
year old needs love and attention, and my pregnancy was kicking my ass. I was
talking to my realtor about finding us a new place to rent, preferably a home,
and she started telling me that I should buy. It was the last thing on my mind.
I hadn’t thought about buying a house for another two or three years. So I was
like well tell me what to do. Next thing I know I am buying a house, carrying a
baby, planning a wedding, and trying to make sure my 3 yr. old feels the
attention and love he needs. He started acting out a bit when I got pregnant.
On top of all this, I am still working full time at the Attorney General’s
office. I AM exhausted at this point. My
plans for no stress went out the window the moment I made it. Me and my husband
finally set down and decided that we wanted the house more than we wanted the
wedding. So we pushed the wedding plans back to June 6, 2015. Baby was coming
in August, and my husband still wanted to be married before we had her so he
asked if we could do something, just us to, at the courthouse. I was fine with
that. BUT what about our parents??? We decided to keep it a secret. So we went
and got married on anniversary date 8-7-14, at the courthouse. To this day, no
one knows we are married but he and I. Baby came end of August. We moved into our
house in November.
We got back on track with the
wedding planning in Feb 2015. This stuff is till hectic. I am doing something
wedding oriented every single weekend. I am so ready for the day to come and
go!!! It is in 18 days and I cannot wait for it be over! I more excited about
the day after the wedding than the actual day .Yes I know I will enjoy this day
and cherish it our memories forever, but OMG.... Wedding planning SUCKS
A friend of mine is planning a wedding, she was quite busy during the time but now she can fully plan it. She is keeping it small and simple. When I got married I was married in the court house and that was all.
